Aguilar Announces Latin Bass Master Class Featuring Oskar Cartaya and Ruben Rodriguez

Advertisement Oskar Cartaya and Ruben Rodriguez are both accomplished and respected instrumentalists in the Latin jazz world. Oskar's credits include: Spyro Gyra, Herb Albert, Jennifer Lopez, Celia Cruz, and Tito Puente. Some of Ruben's credits include: Grover Washington Jr., John Scofield, Mavis Staples, Celia Cruz, and Willie Colon. Ruben has been widely recognized as one who has revolutionized the sound of contemporary salsa. At the Latin Bass Master Class, Oscar and Ruben will be teaching the history of Latin jazz as well as demonstrating some of the rhythms and techniques that have fueled their playing over the years. Aguilar's Artist Series Master Classes give bass players the opportunity to learn from some of the world's most famous bassists in an intimate setting. Attendees will also be able to tour the Aguilar factory and try out the equipment, gaining insight into the craft that goes into Aguilar's products. This event happens on Saturday, September 26, 2009 with the doors opening at noon with the clinics starting at 1pm. The event is free to the public.
