Sonic Timeworks has posted a demo version of a new DirectX compression plug-in, CompressorX. For use with any DirectX host program like Sound Forge, WaveLab, or Cakewalk Pro Audio 6.01, the CompressorX mimics the front panel of a hardware compressor unit, complete with analog style metering for easy and familiar control. The plug-in offers a good range of controls, including hard or soft knees, peak or RMS limiting, and true stereo operation. CompressorX is available for purchase now.

For those with additional compression needs, Sonic Timeworks also plans to release a new Mastering Compressor soon.
