SSEYO Launches Koan with Interactive MP3 for
Mac Fast Generative Koan Music Uses MP3 Services

SSEYO, developer of free, fast Internet audio applications and technology,
today launched Mac versions of its popular Koan Internet audio engine and tools
- with interactive MP3 support.
Through services in QuickTime 4 the entire SSEYO Koan Mac software range can
now make use of MP3 samples. Website developers and musicians are thus able to
create fast exciting MP3-based generative audio applications for Mac users. Not
only that, these MP3-based applications will also play via the Koan Plugin on
both Apple OS7+ and Microsoft Windows 95/98 systems. Authors can also choose to
work in their preferred design environment as the $200 SSEYO Koan Pro authoring
system is available for both Windows and PowerMac platforms. The corresponding
and highly programmable free Koan Mac Plugin is similarly available for both platforms.
The SSEYO website contains a number of free audio applications, many featuring
MP3 samples. These "audioapps" are part of an increasing range of popular
net based SSEYO VulKoan interactive applications. They can be used for free on
most websites providing users register with the relevant online SSEYO VulKoan
mailing list. They include Freesenses: coherent streams of cascading, haunting
melodies and melodic structures set within stunning changing audio backdrops;
Freeharps: fast and fun online music doodling toys; Freemixers: powerful online
mixing environments with associated animations from "chillout" to "club".
SSEYO Koan produces generative music systems for both Internet and standalone
use. It allows creation and delivery of ultra-compact, and therefore fast, pieces
of music that can utilise MP3 samples. The music in these pieces can be fully
sequenced or composed "on the fly", as required. Tiny MP3 samples can
be looked upon as musical building blocks. They can even be used instead of standard
"onboard" MIDI sounds, allowing completely custom sounding music and
audio. The Koan plugin is highly programmable with around 200 parameters and 100
functions. It can also drive web animations (e.g. Flash/DHTML) through webpage
JavaScript, facilitating a plethora of sonically enhanced Internet applications.
