Mixman® Technologies, a leading provider of music tools and content for
the web, today announced the availability of version 3.0 of its popular virtual
DJ software for the Windows platform. Mixman Studio Pro(TM) is a virtual DJ software
environment that allows users to create or remix their own music, or remix the
latest music from major label recording artists, using D*Plates(TM), Mixman's
recently announced 'Internet singles'. Mixman Studio Pro 3.0 adds significant
new functionality to the prior version with 12 real-time and 8 non-real-time DSP
audio effects, expanded export options including unlimited MP3 and Windows Media(TM)
Audio exporting, and integration with Steinberg software.
New Features in Mixman Studio Pro 3.0 include:
W.A.R.P.(TM) (Wide Band Audio Real-time Processing) offers real-time
DSP audio effects triggered by 2D mouse movement within the W.A.R.P. user interface.
W.A.R.P. includes 12 effects that a user can switch between at any time during
a performance.
Eight new non-real-time FX algorithms give the 3.0 Studio Pro users
a total of 23 with over 99 presets. Studio Pro's non-real-time FX enable the user
to apply up to 5 FX per each of the 16 digital audio channels for a total of 80
simultaneous FX in any mix.
User can export their finished remixes as MP3, Windows Media Audio,
Stereo WAV, RealPlayer G2, SoundFont, and TRK files, enabling music to be used
with virtually every audio and web application.
A number of smaller, important enhancements: and expanded Sound library
of 500 royalty free digital audio samples in .trk format, the ability to import
stereo .wav files, samples from Mixman's 11 Soundisc labels, and more.
Mixman's native high performance audio file format, the .TRK file, is
gaining wider acceptance. Steinberg's sequencing software, Cubase 3.7, imports
TRK files gaining. Steinberg's ReCycle 1.7 can create .TRK files for use in Mixman
software titles.
Remixing is at the heart of global expansion of DJ culture: allowing musicians
to creatively explore, shape and arrange sounds to alter the character of a composition
or create entirely new works by combining original audio samples. DJs are a fixture
on most major bands' tours, to add energy, diversity and power to an audio performance,
adding, in effect, an additional musical instrument to performances.
Mixman supplies Soundiscs(TM), a series of professional quality multi-format
sample discs, D*Plates, remixable Internet singles from major recording artists,
and Mixman Enhanced CDs, available from major recording companies, all of which
enable users to dramatically expand the creative range of the music made with
Studio. Mixman users can publish their music on the Internet via Radio Mixman
at www.mixzone.com, Mixman's web radio station
where users can post their music and review other users' state of the art remix
music.
Pricing and Availablity: Mixman Studio Pro 3.0 is now available at Mixman retailers
in North America, at a M.S.R.P. of $89.95.
