MK-IV Nylon String Baritone Guitar from Veillette
November 22, 2000Veillette Guitars presents another new voice: the MK-IV Nylon-String
Baritone Guitar. A classical-style (wider nut width and flat
fingerboard) baritone guitar, tuned B to B, using a scale length
(mensur) of 26 1/8 inches (66.35 cm) with a 24-fret fingerboard, the MK
IV Bari Nylon offers a commanding presence with unparalleled depth and
range. The baritone guitar is pitched between standard guitar and bass,
similar to the cellos place in the violin family,
The MK IV Nylon-String Baritone Guitar is a compact, lightweight and
well-balanced semi-solidbody acoustic/electric with a bolt-on, one-piece
hard rock maple neck and 24-fret wenge fingerboard. A zero-fret allows
for perfect intonation and easy experimenting with string gauges. Neck
width at the nut is a comfortable 2 1/16 inches (5.25 cm). A unique neck
joint arrangement provides remarkable stability while using a large
machine bolt. The poplar body with figured maple top is cutaway for
unimpeded upper fret access. Electronics feature the terrific Alvarez
System 500A piezo-electric bridge transducer and preamp for pure
acoustic tone at any volume without feedback. Controls include volume,
midrange contour and 3-band active EQ, mounted on the top side of the
body.
Exercising classical restraint and sophistication with no ornamentation
(the essence of guitar), the Bari Nylon feels and sounds as good as it
looks: vibrant and lively and remarkably responsive to dynamic nuance,
projecting clear and balanced fundamentals with bright, sparkling
harmonics and overtones, yet intimate and warm in quiet passages. The
Bari Nylon is perfect for self-accompaniment, an inspirational
songwriting and compositional tool, and offers infinite arrangement
possibilities for soloists, guitar ensembles, combos, bands, orchestras
and conjuntos playing any type of music: pop, jazz, classical, Latin or
new world hybrids.
Rugged construction of quality materials, structural integrity and
functional simplicity of design combine to create an innovative
instrument with remarkable resonance and sustain. Rich acoustic tone and
great feel make the Veillette MK IV Bari Nylon another inspirational
tool for the serious musician. Standard-tuned MK-IV Nylon-String Guitar
also available.
