OnlineConservatory.com Launches Musical Meeting Place Melodus.com
September 20, 2000OnlineConservatory.com, the only place on the Internet
that offers live, real-time piano lessons, announces the launch of
Melodus.com, an affinity web site for keyboard players to meet, chat and
share their music online.
Both Melodus.com and OnlineConservatory.com make use of the company's
Melodus software, which allows the two-way flow of MIDI (Musical Instrument
Digital Interface) keyboard signals across the Internet. With Melodus.com,
students, teachers and experienced musicians have a forum to meet,
collaborate and jam regardless of their geographic proximity to one another.
Users can log in to the Melodus.com Green Room to see who's online, and
who's available to play.
The Melodus software works with most MIDI devices -- keyboards, pianos, DJ
and synth instruments and beat boxes. The Melodus software uses Microsoft
NetMeeting to provide live voice chat capabilities. Users require a
microphone and speakers (or a headset) to use the voice chat, but Melodus
also supports text chat.
This is just the first step for Melodus.com, says OnlineConservatory.com
CEO Derrick Rowe. We envision online clubs, studios and concert halls to
facilitate anything from private collaborations to live interactive concerts
with highly acclaimed pianists. For more information, visit their web sites at www.onlineconservatory.com and www.melodus.com. |
