Syntrillium Software has released two new members of the Cool Edit 2000
family of products: the Phat Pack Plug-In and the Tweakin Toys Plug-In. Cool Edit 2000 ($69) is a professional yet
affordable audio recording and editing application for Windows 9x, Windows NT, and Windows 2000.
The Phat Pack Plug-In adds four delay-based effects to Cool Edit 2000 that allow users to fatten up their sound: Full
Reverb, Multitap Delay, Chorus, and Sweeping Phaser. Full Reverb can re-create the rich ambience of any acoustic
space. Multitap Delay is great for creating complex echoes and slapback effects. The Chorus effect can thicken an
instrumental or turn a solo vocal into an ensemble performance, and the Sweeping Phaser is great for spicing up dry
guitar tracks.
The Tweakin Toys Plug-In offers four special-effect and mastering tools: Hard Limiter, Pan/Expander, Pitch Bender,
and Convolution. Hard Limiting is great for raising perceived loudness without clipping. The Pan/Expander can widen
the field on stereo recordings. The Pitch-Bender can fix trouble spots in harmony and melody and create special effects
like a turntable winding down. Convolution uses impulse-sampling to re-create the sound of actual places.
Each Plug-In is available for only $49, and right now, by downloading the functional demonstration version from
Syntrillium's web site. Users can buy the plug-ins at Syntrillium's online store for immediate use
and until the end of
the year, anyone who purchases one of these new Plug-Ins will get the other one free! For more information and to buy the plug-ins on-line, visit their web site at www.syntrillium.com. |
