Art Vista Releases Cool Vibes CD-ROM for GigaStudio

Art Vista Productions, known for the Malmsjö Acoustic Grand sample library for GigaStudio, is introducing a new vibraphone sample for the GigaStudio platform. Following the tradition of the Malmsjö samples, Cool Vibes offers an extremely realistic rendition of the instrument played in an acoustic space.
Cool Vibes is a sample of the Yamaha 3 1/2 octave Gold Tour Vibe. It includes 40 patches for keyboard controllers, and 40 patches programmed for use with Don Buchla's Marimba Lumina mallet controller.
The sample offers five instruments ranging from 84 to 672 stereo samples to provide for any available RAM-size. There are also three instruments based only on the lowest velocities, for special effects purposes. Each instrument comes in five different stereo perspectives.
The vibraphone was played with soft mallets, and sampled with the motor engaged. Eight velocity levels of both dampened and sustained notes were recorded, capturing the full dynamic range of the instrument.
The sample comes on one CD-ROM in GigaStudio Format, packing over 1Gb of samples in compressed form. The compression/acceleration algorithm used, reduces the hard drive space required to hold the sample to 600Mb.
To provide variety for different recording situations, the sample includes a programmed tone control filter, which will adjust the amount of "body" to the tone, if applied.
The patches programmed for the Marimba Lumina were calibrated for a correct velocity response at the time of recording. These patches also provide the necessary programming to allow the mallet controller to work with GigaStudio.
