Sony Oxford Releases Dynamics Plug-In for ProTools

December 30, 2002Sony Oxford has announced the release of the Sony Oxford Dynamics
plug-in for ProTools.
The Oxford Dynamics/Compressor is available to download now from
www.sonyplugins.com and a 7-day demo is also available from the same
site. The new plugin is fully compatible with Digidesign ProTools HD/TDM/Mix
and includes an RTAS version. The Oxford Dynamics plug-in is modelled on the
extremely flexible and capable unit used in the OXF-R3 professional mixing
console.
Resulting from many years of research into professional dynamics
applications,
the channel dynamics offers separate Compress, Limit, Expand, Gate and side
chain EQ functions, with full independent control of all parameters. Also
separately included is a bus Compressor/Limiter which is fully surround
multi-format compatible.
Features such as selectable time constant curves and variable soft compress
functions allow the user to tackle all common uses of
compression,
from subtle level control and mastering functions to the production of great
artistic effects. The plug-in uses a feed-forward architecture with logarithmic
side
chain processing.
The Sony Oxford Dynamics is fully compatible with Digidesign ProTools HD and
Mix systems (including OSX).
