The GPP-1 Golden Peak-Pressor is a soft-limiter / peak compressor designed for
peak- taming / compression during real-time tracking, sub-tracking and
mixing, live or in the studio. It can compress troublesome peaks, soften
the sound, and bring out instruments that would have been buried in the
final mix.
The Windows plug-in offers five different release types designed for different
material and taste. Program dependent envelope times for increased loudness
and minimum pumping are also included.
"While most limiters these days seem to be made for maximizing loudness,
the GPP-1 works in a much gentler way", says Torben Larsen, founder of
Kjaerhus Audio. "We wanted to design a plugin that would tame the peaks
without squelching the sound.
Instead of trying to push the RMS level to extreme heights, the GPP-1 can
compress the peaks in a gentle and musical way that allows the sound to
"breathe". The result is an open and live sound that hasn't lost all of its
dynamics."
As with the other members of the Gold Series, this plug-in uses 64-bit
processing, and supports up to a 192kHz-sampling rate. It has practically
no latency, which makes it suitable for real time use in the studio or on
stage.
The normal price is only $68.00, but the company is offering an introductory price on the GPP-1
of $54.40 (-20%) through November 14, 2004.
Kjaerhus Audio is also offering a group-buy option for their other Gold Series products,
with discounts up to 40%. The discounted products are Golden Modulator GMO-1, Golden Equaliser
GEQ-7 and Golden Compressor GCO-1. All products can be purchased
individually or as bundle.
The group-buy period ends November 08, 2004.
