In celebration of their 95th Anniversary, Ludwig has introduced a new
Special Edition Snare Drum. Beautifully finished in a rich cherry stain, the
L2004 features a solid 100% maple shell with reinforcement rings. Brass
single flange batter and snare hoops recreate the look of a Ludwig snare
drum from the 1920's. To complete the look and function, the drum is fitted
with ten all brass vintage styled tube lugs along with Ludwig brass die-cast
claw hooks to supply secure and accurate tension.
The unique Ludwig Millennium P86 snare strainer and corresponding P33 butt
plate are both brass plated. They combine with Pure Sound 16-strand brass
wire snares to provide for an exceptional snare response. A Remo
Renaissance batter head is standard while the snare side features Ludwig's
Weather Master Resonant head. A vintage styled oval badge displays the
Ludwig Trade Mark and Monroe, North Carolina USA designation. An additional
limited edition badge features the Wm. F. Ludwig II printed signature along
with an exclusive, engraved serial number.
Each L2004 includes a deluxe wooden case wrapped in a durable
leather-like material. Trimmed with a contrasting leather-like edging, each
case is also fitted with brass trim, latches, and hinge. A soft brown plush
lining adds beauty while protecting the drum from the outside world.
The Ludwig L2004 Special Edition Snare Drum has a suggested retail price in
the USA of $1,595 and is available through authorized Ludwig dealers.
