New from Steve McKinley Pedals is the Hottie Mods Blonde BOSS DS-1 Pedal, designed for that vintage "tweed" tube amp overdrive tone. The Blonde's circuit and buffered output produces that golden overdrive tone of yesteryear and is intended to work with any guitar/amp combination.
Features:
- Silicon diodes for smooth gain
- Tube-like dynamics from asymmetrical clipping
- Low-end frequencies added for a full response
- Tons of volume output. This is for overdriving tube amps or other overdrive pedals
- Buffered output so that it can drive pedals or amps with a high current and low impedance signal
- Lowered noise floor
- Amber LED
The three silicon diodes in the circuit recreate a natural and open sounding break-up found in vintage "tweed" amps. The clarify of the modern circuit adds an updated version on this coveted tone.
The DS-1's tone, level and distortion controls allow you to dial in a sweet spot for your guitar / amp set up. The Blonde's gain ranges from light overdrive to a throttled growl.
The McKinley Blonde BOSS DS-1 can be powered by batteries or an external 9 Volt DC power supply.
Price: $89. Available starting in March, 2007
