Submissions Open For 8th Annual Fortune Battle Of The Corporate Bands

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and NAMM, the International Music Products Association, are proud to announce the opening of submissions for this year's 8th Annual FORTUNE Battle of the Corporate Bands, the country's biggest celebration of "musicians with day jobs." Corporate bands from around the world can enter starting today at http://www.sonicbids.com/Opportunity/OpportunityView.aspx?opportunity_id=12064 (U.S. bands) and http://www.sonicbids.com/Opportunity/OpportunityView.aspx?opportunity_id=12085(international bands). Proceeds from the competition will help support the Rock Hall's education programs. Additional event sponsors include KeyBank, Gibson, and Air Products.
This year, a total of 18 bands will be invited to play 20-minute sets in one of three U.S. Regional Competitions, to be held in New York City on May 17; Nashville on June 21; and Los Angeles on July 19. Six bands will be invited to play the European Regional Competition in London as well, to be held on August 23. The top two finishers in each U.S. regional, the winner of the London regional and one wild card band will make it to the Finals at the Rock Hall in Cleveland, OH on Saturday, October 4, 2008.
The submissions this year are being hosted by Boston-based Sonicbids, the leading web site that empowers emerging bands from around the world to find the right gigs. Interested bands must enter using their Sonicbids EPK™ (Electronic Press Kit) or sign up for an account and create one. The deadline to submit entries is March 31, 2008 for US company bands and April 21, 2008 for International company bands.
