Fender Jimmie Vaughan Signature Tex-Mex Stratocaster® July 11, 1997For more than 25 years, guitarist Jimmie Vaughan has affectionately
referred to himself as "a walking Fender ad." His rootsy, impassioned Stratocaster
licks and fills have graced the numerous recordings of the Fabulous Thunderbirds,
his legendary brother, the late Stevie Ray Vaughan and his own solo recordings. It's
only fitting that Fender Musical Instruments should honor this cool guitarist with the
Jimmie Vaughan Signature Tex-Mex Stratocaster®. The guitar will make its debut
at the Summer NAMM show in Nashville.
A reflection of Jimmie's style of keeping things simple and traditional, the
guitar features a poplar body, a specially shaped tinted maple neck equipped with
medium jumbo frets, U.S. vintage hardware and a single-ply white pickguard.
Single coil Tex-Mex pickups in the neck and middle positions plus an extra hot
Tex-Mex bridge pickup with special wiring add just the right amount of spice and
bite. "The pickups are very high output and extremely punchy with a lot of guts,"
noted Mike Lewis, marketing manager for Fender's electric guitar division. "We
think players are really going to be quite amazed at this guitar's high-end sparkle
and snap."
The Jimmy Vaughan Signature Stratocaster is available in Olympic White.
U.S. suggested retail price, including deluxe gig bag, is $649.99. For more information, visit their web site at www.fender.com. |
