Parker Guitars Introduces Fly Concert Guitar July 11, 1997
Parker Guitars announces the introduction of the new Fly Concert guitar, a spruce wood, one-piece body design with all the features Parker Fly Deluxe guitars are known for. The announcement was made by Randall Whitney, Product Manager for Parker Guitars and marks the latest addition to the growing line of Parker Fly Deluxe, Classic, Supreme and NiteFlyTM line of fretted instruments.
The new Concert Fly guitar is crafted from specially selected spruce tonewoods chosen for their great response and sustain, and is extremely light in weight (about five pounds!). The instrument is equipped with a Fishman active-piezo pickup system, custom designed for the Fly Concert guitar, that delivers the rich, lush sound of an acoustic guitar at any volume. In addition, the Fly Concert is fitted with spring-tempered, stainless-steel frets, Locking Sperzel tuning machines, a piezo volume and piezo tone controls. The Fly Concert allows the guitarist the ultimate in acoustic/electric guitar sound flexibility while playing either on-stage or in the studio.
The Fly Concert's spruce wood is finished in a special solvent-free polymer that is slowly and carefully applied using a new paint-immersion technique which is then
cured with ultra-violet light. The guitar is then hand-rubbed to an ultra-high gloss butterscotch finish.
Commenting on the new Parker Fly Concert guitar, Randall Whitney stated, "We showed the first prototype of the Concert guitar to selected players at the Summer NAMM show in Nashville, and the response was just overwhelming. It's unique acoustic sound and flexibility was immediately embraced by players in all genres of music."
The Parker Fly Concert lists for $2950.00 and is available immediately. The price includes a molded Hiscox case. For more information, visit their web site at www.parkerguitars.com. |
