Roland JC-90 Jazz Chorus

January 16, 1997

In the course of electric guitar history, few amps have gained what could rightfully be called a "legendary" status - a classic by which all other amps are judged. The Roland Jazz Chorus guitar amplifier is among this elite group. Introduced in 1975, the JC-120 Jazz Chorus was the first guitar amplifier to incorporate built-in chorus effects enhanced with a dual-amplifier, dual-speaker (stereo) design. Its sparkling clean chorus sounds have since made the original JC-120 one of the most popular "clean" amplifiers in the world - a status it has held for over 20 years. Now, with the introduction of the JC-90, musicians can have the legendary Jazz Chorus sound in a smaller, 80-watt configuration.

The JC-90 Jazz Chorus features, first and foremost, the legendary JC amplifier design: two separate 40-watt amplifiers driving two 10-inch speakers. These speakers are independently amplified to allow for true stereo chorus effects - legendary stereo chorus effects.

The onboard chorus includes independent rate and depth controls for precise effect tailoring. Chorus can be activated via footswitch, as can the high-quality Roland reverb effects and mild distortion sounds.

The preamp section of the JC-90 contains 4-band EQ controls - high treble, treble, mid, bass - as well as separate distortion and reverb controls.

Connections include high- and low-level inputs, a mono-send/stereo-return effects loop, stereo line outs, and a cabinet-voiced headphone output. The compact JC-90 weighs in at 42 lbs., making it the perfect partner for gigs and studio use.
