Acoustic Guitar Magazine Debuts "Guitar Pro" Monthly Section Aimed at Professional Players
June 22, 2007
Advertisement Acoustic Guitar is pleased to announce Guitar Pro, a new monthly section providing service to thousands of working guitarists. Guitar Pro presents practical advice on recording, performing, teaching, and building a career for professionals who use the guitar as their main tool in making music and earning a living. Beginning with the September 2007 issue, this monthly department will provide quality advice to full-time, part-time, and future career guitarists on the best gear, the smartest methods, and the most exciting opportunities available to them. "Working musicians have always relied on Acoustic Guitar for in-depth information about the guitar community," said Dan Gabel, AG's Group Publisher. "With the introduction of the Guitar Pro department, we are now giving them a dedicated part of the magazine that addresses their daily concerns about making a living in a competitive field. It really bolsters our ability to provide top-notch service to the entire spectrum of acoustic guitarists - from developing players, to serious, passionate enthusiasts, and now professional guitarists. And it gives the music trade a place to reach these players in a dynamic and exciting environment." In addition to the printed version, a Guitar Pro section of AcousticGuitar.com and a monthly Guitar Pro email newsletter will be launched this summer. In all its platforms, Guitar Pro will serve the practical, professional, and networking needs of all guitar professionals ? from those just starting their careers to established musicians and guitar businesspeople ? with in-depth profiles of noteworthy musicians, institutions, schools, studios, and venues; news and reviews of equipment, gear, and other resources; advice on all aspects of the business of music; ideas on stagecraft, recording techniques, guitar pedagogy, composition, and creative endeavors; and opportunities for readers to exchange ideas, information, and advice.
