ActoGuitar.com Launches Learn 'n Earn Program

August 29, 2006

ActoGuitar.com has recently launched its Learn n' Earn Program - a system that pays members for learning to play guitar.

The premise is simple: members create a channel on a band or guitarist they want to study, and then research them on the web. The members then share the knowledge they have found that will help others learn to play guitar like the band/guitarist they are studying. Each time an article they contribute gets viewed, the member who authored it gets an "ActoDollar" - essentially a point that can be cashed in for real money or donated to charity.

The worth of an ActoDollar is based upon how much advertising revenue ActoGuitar generates, as 50% of the advertising revenue ActoGuitar earns is put into a community fund that represents the value of all ActoDollars in US dollars (and can be exchanged accordingly).

"The idea here is to create a system that will fairly reward anyone who shares useful knowledge about guitar playing," said Simit Patel, aka Kid Mercury, the founder of ActoGuitar.com. "The Internet is revolutionizing the way education works, and ActoGuitar wants to help all guitarists - both beginners and the more experienced - benefit from this revolution."
