AES Announces 3-Day Technology Exhibition In San Francisco

June 27, 2006

Highlighting a continuing commitment to support the evolving needs of the pro audio community, AES Executive Director Roger Furness reports that the 121st Convention will introduce the first AES three-day Technology Exhibition, Friday Oct. 6th – Sunday, Oct. 8th, 2006 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

"The Conference Program at the Convention, dedicated to papers, workshops, tutorials, technical tours, historical, broadcast, educational and special events, will maintain its traditional four-day schedule from Thursday Oct. 5th, until Sunday, Oct. 8th," Furness said. "Our goal has always been to tailor conventions to provide the information attendees need to work smarter, more efficiently and more creatively. We take exhibitor and attendee comments seriously, and try to incorporate their suggestions whenever possible."

Furness points to an increased effort to attract "end users" to the 119th Convention in NY as another prime example of this philosophy. "By establishing Official Retail Sponsorships with leading pro audio dealerships we significantly increased attendance for last year's event, a win/win situation for everyone," he adds. "Our decision to keep the exhibition hall open for three instead of four days will enable exhibitors who are generally focused on their booth activity to take greater advantage of the educational and technical sessions at the core of AES events.

"The AES is committed to producing the most comprehensive and effective conventions possible. A dedicated three-day technology exhibition is a logical and timely move in that direction," Furness concludes.
