Ampeg introduced the new B4R this summer. The rackmount head boasts 1000 watts of mono-bridged power with new "texture" and "style" selectors for unique tone control. The B4R's five position "style" control allows the player to choose from five different preamp settings. In addition, the "texture" control activates Ampeg's patented tube emulation circuit for a wide range of tones. Other features of the B4R include: biampable operation, nine band graphic EQ, Optocoupler limiters, internal 24 dB/octave crossover, parallel/series effects loop with blend control, line out level control, XLR balanced output with ground lift and pre/post EQ line out switch to name just a few. Ampeg product manager Tony Moscal states that "the B4R was designed as a professional bass amp offering high power and the flexibility of solid state design with new sound options via new controls and patented tube emulation circuit." The B4R is covered by Ampeg's five year warranty and lists for $1,249.00. Specs:
