BackLine Engineering Announces FX-Tracker™ Firmware Update 2.0
July 07, 2006
Advertisement BackLine Engineering has announced a new firmware update to FX-Tracker™, the first effects unit in the industry that allows guitar players to control their sound by changes in their playing style. FX-Tracker utilizes the note recognition technology developed for the successful RiffBox™ looping device while incorporating many of the effects popular with musicians today. This allows you to tailor your own unique sound beyond what can be created using standard effects devices. FX-Tracker now includes 87 effects in the categories of Delay, Chorus, Tremolo, Flanger, Filter, Pitch Shifter and MIDI output. With most of these effects, you can control timing or intensity of the effect by changing your playing speed or your playing volume. The firmware update includes a new reverse delay effect, which plays the audio backwards each time you play a note back to the previous note that you played. In addition, the firmware update includes 17 new MIDI output effects that allow you to control almost any parameter within the many MIDI capable effects units that are on the market today. It does this by sending MIDI CC output messages in one of the formats listed below:
You can set the MIDI CC number along with the maximum and minimum CC value for each of these effects. Imagine controlling the drive parameter of an amp model based on you playing, or switching amp models or effect types with each note that you play. The retail price is $599.00 with a street price of $419.00. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.backline-eng.com/.Recent BackLine Engineering headlines
