Blade Guitars Introduces Durango Custom DC-2 Electric Guitar And Starfish Inlays

October 24, 2007

Currently celebrating the company's 20th anniversary, Blade Guitars' Gary Levinson has produced the newest member of the Durango series, the Durango Custom DC-2.

Featuring a mahogany body capped by a stunning 200mm broadleaf maple top to give the instrument a thick, natural tone, the Durango's design keeps it ergonomic and light, while the specially designed TOB-16 wrap-around bridge delivers superb intonation and sustain. The new LHN-6 pickups were created to match the tonal possibilities of the Durango Custom. In addition, a custom 5-way switch adds outside/inside single coil combinations to the classic humbucker sounds, while the trademark VSC-3 Variable Spectrum control offers improved tonal versatility. The Durango Custom DC-2 is supplied with a hardshell case and is available in ocean blue, honey burst, seethru red and tobacco sunburst.

A second model, the Durango Starfish Custom, offers beautiful starfish inlays.

Levinson has worked as a submarine geologist on some of the most beautiful reefs in the world, from Australia's Great Barrier Reef to the reef walls of the Red Sea. Now, he has created an inlay pattern of fish and starfish that inhabit these wonderful underwater worlds. Each inlay has been hand-drawn by Gary and combined into a flowing pattern of abalone pearl to illustrate his passion for the reef.

Inlaid in the finest ebony fingerboards, the Star-Fish custom inlays adorn several Blade 20th anniversary models including special editions of the RH-4 California Custom and the Durango Custom.

Finished in a hand-rubbed honey lacquer, the RH-4 features a superb, solid broadleaf maple body and is supplied with a Blade High Impact Soft Case.
