MI Audio announced a new low/medium gain overdrive pedal, the 'Blue Boy overdrive'. The Blue Boy has been 18 months in the making, and the final design features 'Drive', 'Tone' and 'Volume' controls. The Blue Boy also features 3 internal trim controls (brightness, voicing and character) which provides a large amount of flexibility for tailoring the tone of the pedal, from clean and fat, to fuzzy. The Blue Boy features the famous JRC4558D IC which is mounted in an IC socket, so the user can experiment with different ICs without having to de-solder the IC. The compact and heavy-duty enclosure is made from die-cast aluminium, which has been professionally powder-coated and silk-screened. The Blue Boy also features a 3PDT heavy-duty footswitch for true bypass and a high brightness yellow LED. Each pedal is hand-made in Australia. The Blue Boy retails for US$129.95.
