Burns Announces New Models for 2005
March 03, 2005
Advertisement Burns USA is working on a number of new models for 2005, the result of an on-going collaboration between the Burns USA design team and several professional musicians. The most exciting addition to the Burns USA line will be the five string bass: The Vista Sonic 5. It features an alder body and a 35-inch scale length for note articulation, especially in the low end. The neck is made out of rock maple, and it employs a shallow U-shaped profile to allow maximum comfort for the player's fretting hand. Two soapbar pickups are partnered with a two-band active EQ for added versatility. A quilted maple top and a pearloid pickguard help give the instrument a classy look. Burns USA will also be continuing its line of acoustic guitars as well. The Premier Series includes guitars with multiple body styles. The base model will be a standard dreadnaught with a solid spruce top, mahogany neck and body, and abalone inlays around the sound hole and body ($489.95 retail). The series also features a jumbo body style with similar construction as the dreadnaught ($519.95 retail) and a concert sized cutaway model with a flamed maple back and sides, optional 4-band EQ, and abalone and mother of pearl fingerboard and body inlays ($559.95 retail, $629.95 retail for the electric version). The top of the line model will be a deluxe version of the jumbo model which will feature flamed maple back and sides with a light blonde finish, and mother of pearl fingerboard inlays.
