digitalmusician.net Releases Version 1.5 Of Its Online Music Collaboration Platform

digitalmusician.net has released version 1.5 of its online music collaboration platform and community.

digitalmusician.net provides an online community and VST plug-in for peer-to-peer recording and cooperation via the Internet.

"Version 1.5 enhances the user experience significantly, both in the plug-in and on the site," comments Managing Director Hans-Jörg Bordin. "The site now features a project area with file upload and chat. The new plug-in allows Cubase and Nuendo users to take advantage of automatic latency compensation for live input recording. These improvements will enable musicians to work even more interactively!"

The new features in detail:

PROJECT AREA: The site's new project area allows the creation of public and private projects for offline collaboration and file exchange. The area can also be used to post a project when looking for contributors in the preparation phase of a new project (e.g. looking for singers or other musicians)
CHAT: In addition to the chat area on the web page, all logged-in users may now communicate with each other using the plug-in's new integrated chat function
USER PROFILE: The new "User Profile" button in the plug-in window links directly to the "Artists & Studios" homepage during a session and instantly displays the collaboration partner's background information
LATENCY COMPENSATION: Now Cubase and Nuendo users can take advantage of automatic live input latency compensation during recording, ensuring that the audio is always heard in the right position

The digitalmusician.net plug-in is compatible with VST-compatible Mac and PC recording applications such as LIVE, CUBASE or NUENDO. Two versions are available - a free one excluding the LAME codec (which can be downloaded for free from the Internet as well), and one for 15.95€ with built-in LAME codec (The LAME codec is required for MP3 encoding).

digitalmusician.net provides different membership levels - the free basic level already includes the plug-in and limited project level access. Professionals requiring extended features can subscribe to payable programs with higher streaming bandwidth and other pro-features.
