Godin Offers Guitarists a Detour

The Detour adds another double cutaway solid-body to Godin's growing roster of Performance Series guitars.

The short-scale (24 3/4"), rock maple, neck provides easy string bending. A block of Silver-Leaf Maple provides a solid anchor point for the bridge and neck with balance provided by light Poplar wings on each side of the body. Maximum neck/body resonance is further assured by the super-tight neck pocket, which is masked prior to finishing to make sure that there is no paint or finish residue left to impede a perfect wood-on-wood connection.

Strings pass through a brass plate in the back of the guitar and the body for maximum sustain. All of this resonance is captured by two Godin humbucking pickups. The neck and body of the Detour are crafted in La Patrie, Quebec and assembled at Godin USA in Berlin, New Hampshire.

Available in: High Gloss Black Pearl and Red ($445 US list) or Satin Silver finish ($415 US list). Price includes deluxe gig bag.
