January 10, 1999

Gibson's introduced their ES-335 Dot in 1958, combining the archtop, hollowbody tradition and solidbody guitar performance. The classic design continues, but now Gibson will be making them available in two new finishes. The ES-335 Ebony features a creme body and neck binding, Grover tuners, and nickel hardware. Maple center block construction, '57 Classic humbuckers, and a one piece, 1960 slim taper Les Paul neck are standard features. The translucent brown 335 Dot is complemented by a creme body and neck binding as well, but comes with gold hardware, and Schaller crank tuners. The fine figured maple body shines through with the translucent finish. Specifications (both models):
