Edirol Corporation announced that the FA-101 10x10 FireWire Audio interface is now shipping. With direct support for Panther using Apple's FireWire Audio Driver 1.0.8 and WDM & ASIO support for Windows XP, the FA-101 is a powerful FireWire Audio interface that offers low latency on both Mac & PC platforms.

The FA-101 is a single half-rack 10x10, 24-bit/96kHz audio interface capable of drawing power directly from a 6-pin FireWire port for optimum portability. It can also record up to 6x6 at 24-bit/192kHz. It offers 8x8 analog I/O with two phantom mic preamps, Stereo Optical S/PDIF I/O, MIDI I/O, and 1/4" headphone output with built in direct through mixing capabilities for low latency monitoring. The FA-101 offers an incredible 108 dB S:N on output. It has been designed to offer the most important tools for multitrack recording to mobile musicians and sound artists.

The FA-101 was first announced this January at the Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, CA. This is the first FireWire Audio Device by Edirol, making Edirol the first company to offer audio interfaces for USB, USB2.0, and FireWire connections to the computer.
