FXpansion, formerly Amulet Audio Software, today announced a new line of creative plug-in effects and synthesizers aimed at the electronic music and sound design communities. The FXpansion series of plug-ins offer design and affordability - the first round are priced at $20-30 individually, or only $100 for six. They are available immediately on PC VST and Direct-X platforms, with Macintosh, BeOS and Creamware Pulsar versions following in the spring.

The first available plug-ins are:

  • PHAT.SYNC - a programmable, multimode pattern-controlled filter, which syncs automatically to incomingMIDI clock or, in VST, to the sequencer's own clock.
  • MidiComb - an eight-note polyphonic delay-line resonator controlled from MIDI Note Data. This unique effect allows you to "play" the pitch of a set of short delay lines fed with incoming audio, adding outlandish resonant effects and chords to the audio signal.
  • Autop0le - a flexible dual filter bank, featuring two stereo 24dB multimode filters, with sophisticated envelope and LFO modulation options.
  • RingModulator - possibly the most advanced software ring modulator on the market. Envelope and LFO control of the modulator frequency, four modulator and LFO waveforms, stereo panning, and useful modulation routings. In the next few weeks we will also be releasing a 14-band real-time Vocoder plug-in, and a powerful multi-tap delay.
