Graph Tech Guitar Labs announced a new incarnation of String Saver guitar saddles. Named "FerraGlide", the new saddles borrow polymer technology from Graph Tech's patented String Saver saddles in the form of an insert, which is inset into a classic steel saddle. The inset String Saver material releases micro-lubricants activated by string pressure that allows the string to vibrate freely. The result accordingto the company is strings that last and last. "While String Saver saddles have been enormously popular with guitarists trying to alleviate string breakage problems and improve sustain, we have heard from players who wished to preserve the look of their vintage instrument." states Dave Dunwoodie, President. "We can now offer those players String Saver benefit with classic looks and tone." While four models are presently available, Dunwoodie suggests that the line may expand to include other guitar models by fall. Models:
