Founded in 1946, Framus quickly established itself as an innovative force in musical instrument design and manufacturing. Over the years Framus sold an entire range of stringed instruments at every price point from student to professional. Unfortunately, the economic turmoil in Germany in the mid-70’s, and the rise in inexpensive instruments from Asia, caused the company to close its doors. In the mid 1990’s, Hans Peter Wilfer, the president of Warwick and the youngest son of Framus founder Fred Wilfer, lifted Framus from the ashes and began producing these beautiful guitars and amps for European players in his renowned Warwick factory. After several years (and tons of letters from American guitarists) Hans Peter has decided to now bring Framus back to the States!

Like Warwick basses, Framus guitars are the product of old world craftsmanship and new world technology. They feature some of the most beautiful tone woods and are loaded with only the best Seymour Duncan pickups. Hans Peter has chosen to focus on the high-end of the Framus legacy, leaving some of the more eccentric Framus designs to collectors and guitar history books. Designed with the professional player in mind, each new Framus guitar is perfectly balanced and a delight to play.

The Framus guitar amps are boutique, tubeophile tone machines. Utilizing custom amp parts and the best Celestion speakers available, these hand-wired amplifiers and cabinets will blow you away. Be warned, though; these units are not intended for the novice or intermediate player. These are custom amps designed for the discriminating guitarist who wants only the best amplified tone and flexibility.
