PRESS RELEASE

Free DTS Surround Encoding from Minnetonka

February 13, 2000

Minnetonka Audio Software is offering free encoding of Surround Sound recordings.

Between February 15 and June 1, musicians and recording engineers can send a 5.1 (6-track) Surround master of 5 minutes or less to Minnetonka, and Minnetonka will encode the recording to DTS and burn it onto a CD.

DTS is the ideal choice for distribution of Surround music recordings. A DTS-encoded CD can play Surround Sound on any of the millions of home theaters systems that have a DTS decoder, as well as a growing number of car sound systems. Minnetonka currently sells the only native-mode software encoder for DTS, named SurCode™. It is easy to use, and will take any 6 .wav or .aiff files from a Surround master, and encode them for CD. SurCode can also be used through the built-in interface in Minnetonka’s Mx51 Surround Sound mixing software.
