Gerhart Amplification has introduced the "Gilmore Jr." 1/2 watt tube guitar amp kit for the do-it-yourselfer. The kit has be designed in such a way as to be buildable by a novice with basic soldering skills and the ability to follow instructions. Included are all resistors, capacitors, and other components., a turret board for mounting the components, an illustrated assembly manual, 1 12AX7 and 1 6n1p tube, and custom wound Mercury Magnetics transformers. "World" power transformers are available to support 100, 117, 220, and 240v line voltage. The circuit features a volume and tone control with two stages of preamp gain and a "self-split" push pull power amp. The kit is available in "basic" configuration, which includes everything except a chassis, and "complete" configuration, which includes a prepunched, ready for assembly, chassis, all mounting hardware, and hookup wire.
