PRESS RELEASE
HHB Brings Audio Innovation To IBC 2008
September 12, 2008
Taking up its usual position at the front of the Audio Hall, HHB and specialist post-production division Scrub arrive at IBC 2008 with new products to show, and in celebratory mood as the company's FlashMic Digital Recording Microphone is now clearly established as the recorder of choice for the world's major broadcasters. With the launch of the HHB UDP-89, broadcasters and systems integrators finally have access to a dependable, 1U rack-mounting universal DVD/CD player with impeccable sound and picture quality, and the features necessary for professional applications. In addition to RS232 and parallel remote control, Composite, S-Video, Component, RGB and HDMI video outputs and AES/EBU and S/PDIF digital audio and bitstream outputs, the UDP-89 is the only disc player on the market equipped with a full complement of analogue multichannel audio outputs. Visitors to IBC are invited to enter a free draw to win a UDP-89 by filling in their details on the special beer mats available at the Beach Bar and on the HHB stand. Draws will take place on the HHB Stand at 5.00PM on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The UDP-89 lines up alongside other HHB professional audio products including the CDR-882 DualBurn CD recorder — featuring seamless 'DiscSpan' recording across two or more discs; the full range of HHB Professional Recording Media which now includes pro-specification 1, 2 and 8GB Compact Flash cards and newly upgraded double-coated DTRS tapes; and the aforementioned FlashMic. With more than 1000 FlashMics in use with the BBC, and significant quantities in use with other leading broadcasters including ABC Radio, CNN, BSKYB, Fox News, NBC, NDR, NRK and many more, journalists cite ease of use, sound quality and convenient drag and drop file transfer as among the features central to the FlashMic's success. Since its launch at IBC three years ago, the FlashMic range has grown to encompass omni and cardioid models, both available with and without line inputs. HHB is delighted to welcome representatives of Rosendahl and Roland who are exhibiting alongside HHB on Stand 8.E54 at IBC. Rosendahl is showing its revolutionary new bonsaiLAN Gigabit Ethernet module which facilitates the capturing and sharing of uncompressed QuickTime files, while Roland has its RSS digital snake and new V-Mixing system on demo. Alongside its role as a manufacturer, HHB is also Europe's leading independent reseller of professional audio technology, a position evidenced by the 176-page HHB Catalogue 08/09. Hot off the press and available free to visiting IBC delegates, the Catalogue contains details of more than 1750 pro audio products from more than 150 manufacturers, and is considered by broadcast professionals to be the essential guide to pro audio technology. In addition to the printed version, the Catalogue is also available to search online at the HHB website where visitors can use a convenient new 'Quote Building' system to compare and compile lists of products for submission to HHB for pricing. With members of the HHB broadcast sales team on hand to offer advice and answer questions, HHB is showing a selection of its vast product range including products from Dolby, Wohler, Digidesign and Genelec. IBC visitors involved in post-production are invited to meet the team from Scrub, HHB's specialist division responsible for equipping many of the UK's leading film and TV post facilities. Speaking at the show, HHB Managing Director Ian Jones says, "Our activities in location sound recording technology, equipping post-production facilities and assisting broadcasters in the move to multichannel audio make IBC a very important event in the HHB trade show calendar. We're looking forward to another busy show!" IBC 2008 Stand 8.E54 For more information, visit their web site at http://www.hhb.co.uk/.Recent HHB headlines
