PRESS RELEASE
Hal Leonard Adds Value-Priced DVDs to Bestselling FastTrack® Line
March 17, 2009
Advertisement Hal Leonard Corporation knew it was onto something when it rolled out its first FastTrack® music instruction book/CD packs at the NAMM show in 1997. Over the subsequent dozen years, this incredibly popular method has taught and entertained budding guitar, bass, keyboard, harmonica and saxophone players, drummers and singers. The series has just reached the milestone of more than two million units sold, and has fostered the formation of countless musicians and bands around the world. Hal Leonard has now moved this innovative brand forward with the release of the first four FastTrack DVD lessons: for Guitar, Bass, Drums and Keyboard. One of the company's most buzzed-about debuts at NAMM show, all of the FastTrack DVDs are now shipping. FastTrack DVDs take the same famous fast-paced, edgy approach to learning as the lesson books. Each DVD is filmed in high-definition and features on-screen music with many full-band examples, so it's like having a private lesson that you can pause, fast-forward and rewind any time. As is the case with the method books, the last section of all the FastTrack DVDs features the same three full-length songs, so players and their friends can form a band and jam together. These hour-long, feature-laden discs teach players not only what they need to know to get off the ground, but also all of the fun stuff they want to learn. They are a remarkable bargain at just $7.99 apiece. Hal Leonard Chairman and CEO Keith Mardak comments on the success of the series, "As the hippest method on the market, FastTrack is the proven choice for teens looking to learn an instrument. At that age, there's a lot of competition to move away from playing, so we take great pains to make sure that each product will keep kids interested in music, with the end goal of forming a band with their friends." He continues, "We're really excited about the release of the FastTrack DVDs. At $7.99, they will make the barrier of entry even lower for teens even slightly inclined to try their hand at an instrument." About the New FastTrack DVDs: The FastTrack Bass Method DVD (HL00696058) features Hal Leonard staffer Eric Wills teaching great bass grooves, scales, rock and blues styles, syncopation and more using 50+ songs and examples in notes and bass tab. The FastTrack Drum Method DVD (HL00696059) and an attitude are all fledgling drummers need to get good on their kits. Kevin Dunphy (Fever Marlene) covers rock and blues beats, funk grooves, fill patterns, solo ideas, music notation, improvisation and more using over 75 songs and examples. Abbie Rabine-Aristizabal teaches chord progressions, scales, rock and blues riffs, standard notation and other must-know techniques using more than 75 songs and examples in the FastTrack Keyboard Method DVD (HL00696060).
