Home Recording Power! explains the latest in home recording technologies, software and hardware, including those used for broadcast on the Internet, such as MP3 and RealMedia formats. It covers the theory behind the equipment and instruction on using it; how to set up your own home recording studio, including the configuring of drums, guitars, keyboards and virtual instruments; and basic and advanced MIDI. The book focuses on using a home computer as the core of the recording studio, plus a few reasonably priced software applications and carefully chosen sound equipment. It takes readers from start to final production for both traditional distributed media and via the Internet. Home Recording Power! is written by Ben Milstead, who has set up numerous home recording studios and recorded his own music for years. He is the founder of The Daisies, a pop folk-rock band in San Francisco (www.regress.com/daisies). He is also a music software expert and has served as the development editor for Cakewalk Power! and Sound Forge Power!
