PRESS RELEASE
M & D International and C & J Distributing Join Forces to Expand Hutchins Guitars in the U.S.
October 13, 2008
Advertisement The Hutchins Guitar dream began in 1996 for Gary Hutchins of the U.K. Gary envisioned a series of guitars which would marry classic vintage styling with 21st century technology. Gary had been in the business of music recording and producing for many years. Because Gary had been heavily involved in the recoding and producing industry, he had a partially formed concept of how he wanted his product to evolve. Enter Allen Entwhistle. Allen is the genius inventor of ATN (Advanced Tonal Network) and many other innovative products used by industry giants such as Hohner, Burns of London and Tanglewood. Allen and Gary met, shared ideas and Hutchins Guitars was born. These Eastern made beauties represent more than four decades of classic body designs every player will recognize with today's technology that every player craves. Gary and Allen shared a dream- and now it's time for the U.S. to experience that dream. The most recent addition to the Hutchins collection is the "Memphis Rose" model. This Gretch-like instrument features a mahogany hollow body with flame maple top. The maple neck adds strength for heavier strings and has a rosewood fingerboard. The neck is also set using a dove-tail joint with 22 medium frets. The inlays are Mother of Pearl pyramid shapes. The nut width is 1 11/16" and the scale is 24 " allowing heavier strings to produce a slinkier feel. The electronics include 2 retro single coil pickups, 1 master volume, 2 individual pickup volumes, a pickup selector switch and a 3-position tone selector switch. The tailpiece is a Bigsby B70 and the bridge is fitted with string rollers to reduce detuning when the Bigsby is used. This elegant instrument also comes with a British tweed hard-shell case. Rose Red Stain is the available finish for the exquisite "Memphis Rose". Delivery is expected in the U.S. in mid to late October. The retail of the Memphis Rose is $1300.00 including the hard-shell tweed case. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.hutchinsguitars.com/.Recent Hutchins Guitars headlines
