Institute of Contemporary Music Performance Announces Partnership With Gibson

May 22, 2008

The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and Gibson Guitar are delighted to announce that they will work in partnership to help support aspiring young artists and musicians.

Gibson is surely the most famous name in the world of guitars. They have a heritage that lasts over one hundred years, were already established forty years by the time the electric guitar erupted into the world, and have created some of the world's most iconic instruments. This spirit of innovation is still very powerful within Gibson, and not only in the design of the next generation of instruments. Importantly, they actively support the development of young new artists, and where better to find that talent than at the Institute.

The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (of which the legendary Guitar Institute is a part) lays claim to almost a quarter of a century of heritage and experience in creating and delivering ground breaking courses for students of guitar, bass, drums and vocals. It has an international reputation for excellence and innovation and its portfolio of courses is widely regarded as the best training for musicians wishing to forge careers in the music industry.

To mark the start of the partnership, Managing Director Pete Whittard and three lucky students recently headed to Gibson's London HQ and picked up a range of Gibson, Epiphone, Tobias and Valley Arts instruments for students to use while studying at the Institute. And as well as having the chance to play a dream guitar every day, Institute students will now also have unrivalled access to participate in the many showcases and gigs supported by Gibson Guitar.

Pete Whittard, a Director at the Institute, commented; "Gibson and the Institute share so many values, such as a commitment to quality, innovation and to developing young talent. This is great news for both brands and we look forward to working together to develop some fantastic projects and student opportunities!"
