PRESS RELEASE
JamPlay.com Launches With Online Video-Based Guitar Lessons
May 24, 2007
Advertisement After 11 months of development, JamPlay.com is now live, allowing its users to learn guitar from the their own home. JamPlay provides internet-based guitar lessons from a range of teachers, as an attempt to further adapt traditional teaching methods to the Internet-Era. "Face to face guitar lessons with a traditional teacher obviously has its advantages in personal communication, but has tremendous disadvantages, as well," says Jeff Booth, Co-Founder of JamPlay.com. JamPlay.com believes that having many instructors with differing personalities and skill set can provide an individual with a better learning environment. "Not every person learns the same way, and not every teacher can get through to each student." Their multi-instructor approach provides a wide range of teaching techniques, allowing the user to select which lesson series works best for them. The 3-phase curriculum starts with the absolute basics, works towards mastering a specific style of music and ultimately allows the customer to learn his/her favorite songs. Additionally, members are allowed to email questions to JamPlay instructors, and receive video responses. A net-based service, JamPlay charges customers $19.95 per month (via credit card or PayPal) for unlimited access to all lessons from all instructors. With gas prices nearing an all-time high, and face-to-face instructors charging $30-$100 per hour, they believe that cost advantages are major implication of user involvement. "It's very satisfying to provide our customers with such a large, diverse amount of lessons for such a small fee," stated Kevin Wimer, co-founder of JamPlay.com. With a cancellation rate of just over 11%, member retention and satisfaction continue to grow. The website also allows members to create their own profile, post photos, and search for other members within the community.
