PRESS RELEASE
Kong Audio Releases ChineeSuona VSTi
February 18, 2008
Kong Audio plugins have always been highly praised for the playability, detailed sampling, and the meticulously interwoven samplesets filled with various expressions. With superior knowledge about the real physical instrument, Chinee Suona VSTi provides composers and musicians with an extremely playable and authentic plugin. Suona (the Chinese shawm) was originated from Persia and then slowly adopted by the Chinese in the course of history. By the time of the Ming Dynasty (14th — 17th century), Suona is documented as a prevalent instrument in China. Suona is rather unique. It is sort of a crossover between brass and woodwind instruments. The sound of Suona is unapologetically harsh, abrasively brash, and just proud-to-be-so-loud. One may arguably say that Suona showcases the energetic elan of Chinese music the best. Today, Suona is still widely used in the local (especially the rural areas) Chinese activities such as weddings and religious festivals. Some modified versions of Suona are now the official instruments of large traditional Chinese orchestras. Chinee Suona (http://www.chineekong.com/suona.htm) contains two different Suonas: a Big Suona in G (note range: D4-E6), a Small Suona in D (note range: A3-B5), with various types of legato, tremolo, trills and staccato, rolls and vibes playing styles. All samples are recorded in 24 bit/96 kHz. System requirements and specs: Windows XP 32/VISTA 32. 512mb RAM. *For Windows platform only. ChineeSuona VSTi is available now for $68.
