Kyma developers will be unveiling some new synthesis algorithms and presenting a 2-hour Kyma demo in each of 10 cities from November 26 through December 6, 2001. The presenters are Kyma software developers, and they'll be demonstrating the new algorithms and showing how to use Kyma (with the help of a computer screen projector, a surround-sound system, some alternate MIDI controllers, a chromatic cross-strung harp, and tons of sound examples). They've also scheduled some time before and after the formal presentation, so people can ask questions and try things out. The itinerary is:
The presentation is free, but seating is limited, so if you are interested, please make a reservation as soon as possible by contacting Jean Lewis at Symbolic Sound: by telephone 1-800-972-1749 or by email info-kyma@symbolicsound.com. What is Kyma? Kyma is an open-ended sound-design software environment accelerated by a multi-processor sound computation engine called the Capybara*320. In Kyma you can design sounds graphically on your Mac or PC, and then let the Capybara generate the sounds and effects in real-time - including live audio inputs and responsive MIDI parameter control - without impacting the performance of your CPU.
