Live 1.0 Audio Sequencer Released

Ableton has released Live 1.0, an audio sequencer that you can play like an instrument. Geared entirely towards live performance, Live allows the user to make music in an intuitive way. Samples can be played back and new ones can be recorded using the computer keyboard, MIDI notes or the mouse. All the samples used are adjusted to the tempo of the song in real time and without changing the pitch. Even long recordings with changes of tempo are played in-sync. Drag-and-drop can be used to put together any sequence of effects for sound editing – all this while the music continues to play. Live turns any Mac or PC Laptop into a mobile solution for performing live music, and for post-editing: Every action during a session is recorded and can be edited in detail, including all automation of the mixer and effects. Live hosts VST PlugIns and ReWire client applications, and syncs to any MIDI Clock source. The ASIO and DirectX compatibility enable the user to use multiple inputs and outputs, and to pre-listen samples and tracks via headphones.
