Ludwig import Metal Shell Snare Drums are an addition to its line of snare drums, offering the features of Ludwig American-made snare drums in a more economical import model to entry-level, student, and semi-professional customers. The value of these snare drums positions Ludwig as a snare drum manufacturer for a wider market.

The competitively priced snare drums are designed to produce a solid, yet sensitive sound with great snare response. Each model features a seamed shell with traditional Ludwig signature bead. Shells are available in chrome-plated steel, bronze, and brass, in both 5"x14" and 6.5"x14" sizes.

Ludwig's traditional Classic Lugs and Rocker style snare strainer are standard, along with durable 2.3 mm chrome-plated triple flange batter and snare hoops.
