The new MicroMeek MQ1 from JOEMEEK is designed for the home/semi-professional computer recording market. This new 'Drive Bay' Meek provides a single quality recording channel in your computer. Designed as a cost effective option to using an external mixing desk for for mic pre amplification and phantom power, the MicroMeek provides everything needed from inside your computer: mic and instrument inputs, auxiliary input, JOEMEEK's 5 stage CurrentSense pre amplifier, and and optical compressor. It even generates full 48V phantom power from the PC's own power supply. Readers of the music press in the UK (Sound on Sound, Music Mart, Computer Music and Future Music) will have seen the MicroMeek appear in 'Music Village' advertising. This is because the whole project has been done in conjunction with the release of their new PC system (for details on the systems, see www.digitalvillage.co.uk). JOEMEEK is supplying the UK exclusively through Digital Village until November 1st 2001. After that date, JOEMEEK will be looking to other music stores around the country. The product will be appearing in the international markets as soon as production begins. Being a computer product, JOEMEEK has done away with the paper manual, replacing it with a CD-ROM. A number of software products from Sonic Foundry, Cakewalk, and Microsoft are also being bundled with the MQ1. The MQ1 will support both MacOS and Windows, requiring recording software, one free 5.25" drive bay, and one available slot (PCI or ISA). Retail price in the UK is £169 inc V.A.T. The MQ1 is expected to ship in July. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.joemeek.com/.Recent Joemeek headlines
