Channel D has posted Version 4.0 Preview Release (4PR) of their precision multifunction signal analyzer, signal generator and RTA software. 4PR is a major release that includes over two dozen significant new features and performance enhancements. A fully-functional, hands-on demo is available for download. Included is a new, unique customization option whereby feature subsets can be licensed economically in a mix or match fashion - and the evaluation (demo) software can be configured to exactly mirror the features of such customized packages. Pricing begins as low as $74 when combined with limited-time rebates between $15 and $60. This is a free upgrade from Version 3, including NetBoot / OSX Server and AppleShare Network Enabled software configurations. About Mac the Scope Mac the Scope is full-featured, two-channel real-time signal analyzer, oscilloscope and precision signal generator software. Mac the Scope features a vector trace oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, synthesized filter (time domain) 1/3 octave RTA, spectrogram / sonogram display, swept sine analyzer and a built - in, versatile and easy to use waveform and signal generator. The rapidly growing international customer base includes Audio Professionals and Enthusiasts / Hobbyists: sound reinforcement, loudspeaker measurement and design, listening room analysis, audio recording analysis; University / Government / Industrial Laboratory Research: physics, chemistry, medicine, psychology, animal behavior, mechanical engineering; Academic Instruction: chemistry, physics, music. Mac the Scope uses Mac native (16-bit, 44.1 kHz sampling, CD-quality) input and output - - nothing extra to buy! - or third party sound or data acquisition devices with ASIO support - or analyze signal files - with arbitrary (up to 2 GHz) sample rates and word sizes (8, 16, 20, 24, 32 bits) - and up to 127 channels (16 bits or greater and up to 48 input / output channels for ASIO). The Mac the Scope Console user interface intentionally is designed to resemble a traditional 'scope. Modality is avoided where possible, thanks to the Macintosh user-event-driven paradigm. The Console is supplemented, where appropriate, with other configuration panels. Settings can be changed at will, without having to navigate through a series of menus or dialog boxes. Returning to default settings is an easy, one-click operation, and custom configurations can be saved for quick recall. Mac OSX-NetBoot Server and AppleShare are supported via a special NetBoot version of the software, for multi-license, multiuser network server installations. A short summary of what's new in this version (all new features are fully described in the installed documentation):
