Metropolitan Drum Company Introduces Tall Boy Toms for Cocktail Kits
January 29, 2009
Advertisement Metropolitan Cocktail Drums continues lead the way in innovation in cocktail Drums, and announces the release of the new Tall Boy Tom series. These toms speak the language of rock, have clean and clear projection and our 8" diameter by 12" deep tom matches incredibly well with a Cocktail kit voiced for a rock player. This little 8? drum has a voicing of that rivals a traditional 12 x 8 tom. The Tall Boy series of toms are a result of over 15 months of prototypes and bearing edge research combined with head selection to yield a larger sound from a smaller drum. Through our R&D efforts, we?ve discovered that longer toms yield a lower tone and increased resonance, with all other variables being equal. "We're dedicated to setting the bar higher on Cocktail Sets, they rival traditional sit down kits in tone and volume, while allowing the portability and small footprint that are only available in a cocktail set. We push the envelope constantly to find innovation for small and portable cocktail drums." Says Owner and Designer Matthew Belyea, CEO of Metropolitan, and most of all, we make them affordable. Available as an option on our complete series of cocktail drums, Tall Boy Toms began shipping January of 2009. Headquartered in Arlington, Metropolitan cocktail sets are priced from $800 to $1999 Retail.
