PRESS RELEASE

Free "Analog" VST Synth Plug-In

January 04, 2000

Muon Software, previously known on the freeware scene for their Buzz (a tracker program) plug-ins, is now purely focused on the commercial market. In order to celebrate their move to commercial software they are offering their Muon "virtual analog" synthesizer Windows VST plug-in for free.

The Muon Atom is an 8 voice polyphonic software synthesiser with powerful filters and a warm "analog" sound. The Atom fully integrates into the VST mixing environment, as it is inserted like any plug-in (though in an "instrument rack") and directly sends its outputs to the VST monitor mixer.

Features include:

  • Standard VST rack interface for easy parameter editing, patch/bank storage and recall.
  • Two oscillators per voice (sawtooth and variable pulse waves), based on classic analogue synthesis.
  • 24 dB per octave low-pass filter with resonance.
  • Independent ADSRs for filter cutoff and amplifier.
  • Sample-accurate response to MIDI events.
  • 64-bit internal processing.

(note: the free offer ends Spring 2000)
