PRESS RELEASE
Free VST "Virtual Theremin" from FXpansion
August 15, 2000
Unlike other attempts to capture the nuances of the Theremin in software,
Mysteron's control engine is based on Newtonian mechanics to simulate the
wavering
and vibrating tones which characterise the instrument. Mysteron is
compatible with
all VST2.0-compliant hosts, and can be controlled both from the mouse and
via MIDI
from a keyboard or sequencer.
Of course, Mysteron doesn't just do theremin sounds - smooth solo leads and
"analog
style" bleeps and whistles are also possible. All controls, including the
X/Y pad, are
fully automatable.
CPU and memory requirements are minimal - a 200MHz Pentium MMX is adequate.
