Nady Introduces The IRW-220X Infrared Wireless System

April 10, 2006

Nady Systems recently announced the introduction of their new infrared wireless microphone system, the IRW-220X. Nady has been manufacturing infrared units for the past 10 years, and the IRW-220X represents the latest upgraded system using this state-of-the-art technology.

Since infrared (IR) systems use light transmission technology, they don't transmit through walls, making it possible to use any number of IRW systems in the same building without interference. This advantage makes IR systems an ideal alternative to standard multiple RF (VHF and/or UHF) wireless mic set-ups for a variety of applications, particularly classroom use. IR systems also provide added security since they do not transmit beyond the room in which they are being used.

The IRW-220X is available as a handheld mic (IRW-HT6X) or bodypack transmitter (IRW-LT6X). The unit features a dual receiver that allows 2-channel simultaneous operation of 2 transmitters (Ch A and Ch B). Other features include: IR signal reception LED indicators; channel A/B mix audio output RCA phono jack; separate Channel A and Channel B volume controls; and 2 IR sensor coaxial inputs. The IRW-220X operates up to 5 hours on 2 alkaline AA batteries or NiMH rechargeable batteries.

In addition to classrooms, the IRW-220X is an ideal microphone for use in conference/meeting rooms, churches, health clubs, small auditoriums, and other medium-sized venues. It provides high-quality audio and solid reception suitable for all speaking and most recreational singing applications.
