PRESS RELEASE
NetworkSound Releases a Single Chip Solution to Support AES/EBU to I2S Converter for OEM Customers
April 03, 2009
Advertisement NetworkSound has released a single chip (FPGA based) I2S to AES converter for OEM customers. The new I2S to AES/EBU single chip eliminates the need for multiple external AES/EBU transmitters and receivers. All the I2S to AES and vice versa conversion is done inside the chip. This enables OEM customers to design a single chip that can support 4,8,16 and 32 AES/EBU channels to I2S in their end products. The key advantages of NetworkSound's solution are scalability, small foot print, low power consumption and cost effectiveness compared to multiple chip AES/EBU solution. The single chip can support up to 32 channels of I2S to AES/EBU conversion. The chip operates at a 48k sample rate for the first revision and an upgrade to 96K will be available on next release. The Word Clock (WC) can be either from I2S interface (LRClk) or external WC from other AES/EBU devices. The chip will synchronize using the WC thru an external PLL. Some of the key features of the chip are:
The design allows customers to program the U,V and S bits on each AES/EBU frame. Design support and schematic to design in the chip will be provided to OEM customers. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.networksound.com.Recent NetworkSound headlines
